The Medicine Wombyn began her cooking journey out of necessity her sophomore year of high school when she became vegetarian. Prior to realizing that decision meant she could not continue eating all her mom’s cooking, she had ZERO desire to learn how to cook. She arrogantly and ignorantly proclaimed, no such desire to “grow up to be bare foot and pregnant in the kitchen cooking all the time”. Eventually the kitchen became one of her favorite places. She quickly learned that cooking does not make you any less of a feminist, in fact the act of cooking and doing it well is a deep tradition of ancestral wisdom, self and community care. Whatever your reason is for not knowing how to cook: time, money, lack of inspiration, or some distorted view of feminism or upholding patriarchy, I invite you into romancing yourself trough the incredible and therapeutic process of mastering the art of Kitchen Therapy.
